John Maddox

Lighting Designer

John is a specialist in entertainment lighting and performer flying. Having trained in Lighting Design at RADA, John went on to tour internationally with Cirque du Soilel, Sigor Ros and Sylvie Guillem’s final farewell world tour.

He was Production Manager & Lighting Designer for Sadler’s Wells Breakin’ Convention (US tour, London and Toronto), and Head of Lighting for the following: Bat out of Hell (Manchester Opera House and London Coliseum), Railway Children (London Waterloo and King’s Cross Theatre), Lazarus (King’s Cross Theatre), Guys and Dolls (Savoy and UK Tour), Ladykillers (UK Tour), In The Heights (King’s Cross Theatre), Anne Frank (UK Tour), Horrid Henry Live and Horrid (UK Tour), To Kill a Mockingbird (UK Tour), To Sir With Love (UK Tour), Regeneration (UK Tour) Milonga (UK Tour)

John also devises magic tricks and flying illusions for the stage. He designed and engineered the performer flying systems for: The Lion Witch, The Witch and The Wardrobe (Bridge, UK Tour) Peter Pan (Troubadour White City)  Dystopian Dream (Europe & US Tour), The Secret Life of Humans (London & NY.) He also designs flying effects for pantomimes all over the UK each Christmas.
