Socially Distanced Kids’ Activities in London

Posted on

This year has been very strange so far. Coronavirus, known as Covid-19, has changed the way we interact and have fun, even as a family. The good news is, you can still have plenty of fun so long as you keep a safe distance from others and avoid crowded places.

With this in mind, here are some family things to do in London that’ll still allow you to socially distance and protect your health. Don’t forget your masks!

Dinosaur World Live

Relive the magic of an American drive in theatre and watch your favourite shows from the comfort of your own car. This summer,  Dinosaur World Live is ROARING into The Drive in at Troubadour Meridian Water in Enfield, with a special LIVE performance that’s also projedcted up onto the big screen, so everyone can see! Ideal for children aged 3+, this roar-some, interactive show is ideal for dinosaur fans featuring life-like puppets of the most popular prehistoric beasts including Stegosaurus, Triceratops and T-Rex. Take your kids to see the Dinosaurs London live on stage and enjoy an experience you’ll never forget.

The Drive In prioritises safety. This means that all cars are spaced at least 2 metres apart. As it’s a contact-free activity, your tickets will even be scanned through your closed car window, and any food ordered will also be delivered by attendants wearing the correct safety gear. And there are lots of yummy treats available from cheesy fries and burgers to popcorn, chocolate and sweets.

To make your drive-in theatre experience even safer, you should watch the movie with people from your social bubble including family or close friends. A maximum of 6 people can be in each bay and it’s recommended everyone has their own seat when you stay in the car. There’s a space beside the car to put chairs and cushions but always remain in your designated bay.

Enjoy a Dinosaur Themed Picnic

If your kids are dinosaur crazy, why not have a dinosaur picnic in London? This is the perfect way to feed everyone following Dinosaur World Live if you didn’t eat at the venue. Great picnic spots include Battersea Park and Parson’s Green and food ideas include cutting sandwiches into dinosaur shapes or making dinosaur shaped cookies. Another treat involves crafting dinosaur shaped footprints into biscuits – use a clean dinosaur model to help you!

Explore the Great Outdoors

With full dinosaur tummies, you can explore the great outdoors including the Royal Parks with Primrose Hill overlooking London Zoo being a particular favourite for families. Relaxing by the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park while the children play is also a great idea or how about deer spotting at Richmond Park? Little Venice in West London offers beautiful walking routes beside the canal. And if you want to maintain the Jurassic theme for your little dinosaurs, how about going to see the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs at Crystal Palace Park which is free for the whole family.
