5 FACTS ABOUT REGENTS PARK

Before the dinosaurs get to the stage, we thought you’d like some amazing facts about the park itself!

 

  • - Regent’s Park was one of Charles Darwin’s FAVOURITE places to visit!
  •  
  • - It was one of the world’s first scientific parks when the ZSL (Zoological Society of London), opened the first scientific zoo there in 1828. This then went on to become the London Zoo we know today when it opened to the public in 1848!

  • - Regent’s Park is Grade I heritage listed – that means that it is protected forever, and it can never be built over – so what you see is what will have been seen, and what will be seen for years to come!

  • - There is even a University inside the grounds! The Regent’s Park University is a private, nonprofit university, which, arguably has the most beautiful location in all the world.

  • - It is 410.2 acres big!
