THINGS TO DO WITH THE KIDS THIS SUMMER

The summer holidays are here and, with the kids off school, why not enjoy some quality time as a family? Of course, the current Covid-19 safety measures have made it difficult to stick to a normal routine and your children might have been off school for longer than normal already. But there are things you can do to get the kids back into gear this summer and keep everyone entertained. Here are some suggestions.

Dinosaur World Live

How about a theatre experience at The Drive Into excite the little ones? Dinosaur World Live will be performing LIVE at ‘The Drive In’ at Troubadour Meridian Water, offering a safe and socially distanced Jurassic adventure throughout the month of August. Using stunning puppetry to bring prehistoric characters to life including the fierce Tyrannosaurus Rex, Dinosaur World Live in London is an international smash hit that’s enjoyed major tours across the US and the UK.

While stage theatres remain closed this summer, Dinosaur World Live can be enjoyed from the comfort of your car in a contact-free Covid-safe environment. Simply park up, order some snacks from the retro 1950s-inspired attendants and watch the show unfold. Sound will be streamed to your car via FM radio and all vehicles will be spaced at least 2 metres apart. Thanks to the enormous screen, the drive-in theatre in London can be enjoyed from any angle, so there’s no need to bag the front row. Dinosaur World Live will also be played during the day, has a U rating and is just 50-minutes long making it ideal for even the smallest children.

Top tips for a fun drive-in experience with kids:

- Bring blankets in case it gets chilly and to enhance comfort

Walk the Royal Parks

While in the capital, how about taking your little dinosaurs to stretch their legs after a drive-in experience at one of London’s astonishingly beautiful London Parks? Venture into the city centre for a fun afternoon at Hyde Park, or how about climbing to the top of Primrose Hill at Regent’s Park?

St James’s Park is also a real delight with highlights including the famous Blue Bridge which offers incredible views of Buckingham Palace, Swire fountain and Horse Guards Parade. You can also visit these attractions if you’re up for a little walk. While at the park, be sure to also keep a look out for the resident squirrels and over 15 different species of birds. The children are sure to love coming face-to-face with the wildlife as they burn some energy in this spacious setting.
