Nicholas Halliwell

Nicholas is a Scottish actor and puppeteer based in Edinburgh and London. Since graduating from Rose Bruford he has worked consistently as a performer all across Europe, culminating in an Olivier award in 2024 for his puppeteering in Dinosaur World Live (Best Family Show). He has performed for Staniewski at his theatre centre in Gardzienice; with some of the remaining members of Tadeusz Kantor’s Cricot 2 company in Poland; at the Stanislavski Institute in Moscow; and on the stage of the National Theatre of Bratislava.

Puppetry and physical performance have become his main focus over the years, allowing him to travel the country with multiple productions, including Nicoll Entertainment’s Olivier-nominated Dragons and Mythical Beasts, and Olivier award-winning Dinosaur World Live; Hijinx Theatre’s – in partnership with Blind Summit – Meet Fred; and closer to home, Visible Fictions’ A Ladder to the Stars. Other credits include Santa’s Christmas Cracker (Honalee Media); Kinder (Smoking Apples); Under the Frozen Moon, Space Chickens, The Lost Colour, Boulder (Half A String); Boris and Sergey (Flabbergast); The Hit (Strangeface); I Am Beast, Killing Roger (Sparkle & Dark).
